How to Save for your beach wedding

Save For Your Wedding

Created By: Weddings By The Gulf

We specialize in helping couples create their dream beach weddings while staying on budget. Whether you’re planning a small, intimate ceremony or a grand celebration, these guide will show you how to pay for your beach wedding without stress or debt. Planning a wedding by the water can feel like a dream—but figuring out how to pay for it? That’s where savvy budgeting comes in. With some thoughtful planning and a few cost-saving strategies, you can bring your vision to life without breaking the bank.

Here’s how to make it happen:

1. Start Saving Early

As soon as you’re engaged—or even before—start setting money aside for your wedding. Use this simple formula:

  • Wedding Budget ÷ Months Until Wedding = Monthly Savings Goal
For example, if your wedding budget is $10,000 and your wedding is in 12 months, you’ll need to save around $834 per month.

2. Open a Dedicated Wedding Account

Avoid accidental overspending by keeping your wedding funds separate from your regular accounts. A designated wedding account allows you to easily track expenses and even accept contributions from family members.

3. Trim Everyday Expenses

Look for small, everyday expenses to cut back on, like streaming services or dining out. These adjustments can add up quickly and help you meet your wedding savings goal.

4. Consider Family Contributions

Politely ask family members if they’d like to contribute to the wedding budget. While it’s not something to expect, many families are happy to pitch in to make your day special.

5. Create a Wedding Budget

A detailed budget is essential. Start with your total available funds, then break it down into specific categories like venue, catering, attire, and décor. Use tools like a wedding budget spreadsheet to stay organized and track spending.

Crafting a Beach Wedding Budget

Once you’ve secured your savings plan, it’s time to break down the costs. Follow these steps to map out a practical budget:

1. Determine Your Total Budget

Start by calculating how much money you have to work with, including:

  • Current savings

  • Monthly contributions

  • Contributions from family

  • This figure will be your foundation.

2. Review Your Guest List

Your guest list is a major factor in determining costs. More guests mean higher expenses for food, drinks, and venue size. Keep your list small and strategic to save money.

3. Identify Must-Have Elements

Decide early on the features you won’t compromise on—like photography, an open bar, or a specific venue. Prioritize your spending in these areas while trimming costs elsewhere.

4. Budget by Category

List every potential expense and assign a portion of your budget to each. Common beach wedding categories include:

  • Ceremony & reception venues

  • Food & drinks

  • Flowers & décor

  • Photography & videography

  • Attire for the couple and wedding party

  • Invitations & guest favors

5. Research Costs

Get an idea of average costs in your desired location. Research suppliers, compare options, read reviews and interview the Servicer.

How to Save Money on a Beach Wedding

Want your beach wedding to be magical and affordable? Here are practical ways to keep costs low:

  • Consider Beach Packages: Many services offer bundled packages that include décor, flowers, and other essentials at a discounted rate.

  • Book Off-Season or Midweek: Schedule your wedding during less popular months or weekdays for reduced rates.

  • DIY Décor and Flowers: Use simple, beach-inspired elements like seashells or driftwood for decorations.

  • Trim Your Guest List: A smaller wedding means lower costs for food, drinks, and rentals.

  • Go Digital with Invitations: Save on printing by sending online invitations and tracking RSVPs digitally.

  • Simplify the Reception: Serve appetizers or host a potluck-style meal instead of a full dinner.

We hold all the necessary permits, business licenses, and insurance to ensure your ceremony complies fully with local regulations. I am known for my desire to accommodate your wishes for your day. I do my best to use any custom items you request. They would need to be in my care within 30 days of the ceremony. The handmade hibiscus featured in one of the photos was mailed to us, and we arranged the flowers in accordance with the required guidelines..

Do we have to use a pre determined color scheme like other providers?

No. Each wedding is unique to the couple so flower arrangements may be customized to your color scheme. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes. Note: Depending on what season your wedding is held, some flowers may not be available at the time.

As a result, the chairs and arch (or other props) might differ slightly from the photos displayed online. While styles may vary, we ensure that the colors will always be brown or white. Regarding the flowers, each wedding is unique, and flower arrangements may be customized to the couple’s chosen color scheme.

Revised - 12/12/24

The beach holds a special place in many hearts, offering the serene beauty of rolling waves and the joy of sunny days spent with loved ones—friends, family, or a partner. It’s no wonder that beach weddings have become a popular choice for couples seeking a picturesque and memorable celebration.

Planning a beach wedding opens the door to endless inspiration. With the growing popularity of beach ceremonies, there’s no shortage of creative ideas to make your day uniquely yours. If you’re still searching for the perfect aesthetic, explore these seven stunning beach wedding color schemes to spark your imagination.

Beach Wedding Color Schemes

While it might seem like a minor detail, your wedding color scheme plays a major role in shaping the overall look and feel of your special day. It influences everything from decorations to floral arrangements, making it one of the first and most important decisions in the planning process.

Above all, your wedding colors should reflect your personal style and aesthetic preferences, setting the tone for a day that feels authentically you.

Beach Wedding Color Trends for 2025

Shades of Blue: Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin and the soft gulf breeze in your hair—there’s no place more magical to say "I do" than the beach. For a stunning wedding color palette, let shades of blue take the spotlight, creating a timeless coastal vibe that evokes dreams of endless beachside bliss.

PeachFuzz Inspired is a refreshing and soothing approach to neutral tones, blending the warmth of melon with the softness of muted pinks. This color combination strikes the perfect balance between energy and elegance, making it ideal for events that seek a calming and grounded aesthetic. Together, these shades create a harmonious and versatile palette that can be used for anything from weddings to interior design, evoking feelings of warmth, approachability, and understated beauty.

Champagne and Rose Gold: A luxurious pairing that creates a sophisticated and romantic atmosphere offer a timeless and romantic combination. This soft and delicate palette exudes charm and elegance, making it perfect for weddings, baby showers, or any event seeking a gentle yet sophisticated vibe. The rose gold brings warmth and sweetness, while the champagne adds a touch of calm and serenity. Together, they create a balanced and harmonious look that feels both classic and contemporary. This color pairing works beautifully for decor in weddings, offering endless versatility for creating memorable and stylish settings.

Teal, Gray, and Seafoam: These colors come together to form a serene and refreshing palette that evokes the beauty of the ocean. These cool, tranquil tones are a natural choice for beach weddings or events with a coastal theme. The deep blue and teal add depth and richness, reminiscent of the vast sea, while the soft seafoam and muted gray provide a delicate, airy balance, echoing the gentle waves and coastal mist. This harmonious combination creates an atmosphere of elegance and calm, making it perfect for settings that celebrate the natural beauty of the seaside.

Sage and Champagne: Together this palette create a timeless and elegant palette that draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape. Sage green, reminiscent of blooming seat oats and the dark green of their ground cover, brings a natural warmth, while champagne adds a touch of understated luxury with its soft, golden hue.
